The Cabildo

Welcome to The Cabildo, a museum located in the French quarter of New Orleans. The construction took place between 1795 and 1799, under the rule of the Spanish. The building served as headquarters for the government until 1853. Now it serves as a museum for several traditions and artifacts. A commonly held false belief is that this is where the Louisiana Purchase was signed. Costumes, uniforms, swords, signs, and other types of things call this place home. We hope you enjoy the pictures!
