John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial

November 22, 1963, was a tragic day. Our 35th president,, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated. Right down the road from the exact place he had been shot, a memorial was created to honor him. The walls cover every side except for slits located north and south. The reason behind there not being a roof and having gaps under the walls is that it's an “empty tomb” that “symbolizes the freedom of Kennedy's spirit.” At night, light shines inside to give the walls an effect of floating on the light.
